  • PRS Designed-Stop-Tail Bridge

Body and Neck: The single cutaway body is made of mahogany in assortment of color finishes without any pickguard for players to choose from. Mahogany is medium to heavy in weight that yields a characteristic creamy clean and warm full bodied overdriven sound.

Neck for the PRS SE Standard 245 is wide fat in profile made in mahogany top of by a 22 frets medium rosewood fingerboard, again adding warmth to the sound then it is garnished with bird inlays.

Pick-ups: Powering the guitar are two PRS humbucker pick-ups placed on the neck and on the bridge controlled by a 3-way toggle switch for pick-up selection, a separate volume and tone knobs for each pick-ups.

Hardware: The guitar features PRS Designed-Stop-tail Bridge, and PRS Designed-Tuners in chrome, keeping the string in place and in tune.

Final Thoughts: Although the guitar is built with quality, good sounding and extremely playable, the issue would be on the price because it is a bit high especially when compared to a Epiphone Les Paul its main competitor or even with guitars using single-coil for pick-ups, like the Squier Classic Vibe 50’s Stratocaster.

Looking at it overall, the PRS SE Standard 245 is above average and versatile piece of instrument to use on different genre of music that players would enjoy playing with or add to their growing guitar collection.
